The municipality of La Vall d’Uixó is located in the south of the province of Castellón, in the Plana Baixa region, 7 km from the Mediterranean Sea, and is the gateway to the Sierra de Espadán Natural Park. With 32,000 inhabitants, the main tourist attraction of La Vall d’Uixó is undoubtedly Les Coves de Sant Josep, a cave that houses one of the longest navigable underground rivers in Europe.

How to get there

By car

Getting to La Vall d’Uixó by car is very easy. The city is connected to the center of the country by the A-3 and to the Mediterranean road network by the A-7 and the now toll-free AP-7.

Although La Vall d’Uixó does not have a train station, nearby towns such as Nules, Xilxes, and Moncofa (8 km away) do. You can check commuter train timetables at the Renfe website.

It is possible to reach Castellón de la Plana or Valencia by high-speed train and use public transport or a taxi to get to La Vall d’Uixó.

AVSA It is the company responsible for urban transport in La Vall d’Uixó. It is worth noting that both regular lines, north and south, stop at “Alto de la Vila, 13”, the closest stop to Coves de Sant Josep.

On the other hand, the Bus Station of La Vall d’Uixó is connected to the following municipalities through the following regular bus services: HICID:

  • La Vall d’Uixó – Castellón de la Plana (Line 360).
  • La Vall d’Uixó – Xilxes Beach (Line 363).
  • La Vall d’Uixó- Moncofa Beach (Line 364).

Furthermore, our city is also connected to Valencia and its northern metropolitan area via the line 113: Valencia – La Vall d’Uixó.

La Vall d’Uixó is located close to two main airports:

Valencia Airport, located in Manises, is one of the most convenient options for reaching La Vall d’Uixó. From there, the road trip is approximately 52 km, taking about 35 minutes. It is also possible to continue the journey by combining metro, train, or bus from Valencia.

Castellón-Costa Azahar Airport is situated in the north of the province and offers another alternative for those arriving by plane. From this airport, La Vall d’Uixó is about 57 km away, with a drive of approximately 40 minutes.

In both cases, it is recommended to check available connections in advance, rent a vehicle, or use taxi services and public transport to complete the trip to La Vall d’Uixó.
